Bows -> Bamboo backed bow

Broad flattened limbs and high narrow center section distinguishes this type of bow. The forces of compression during the draw is equally distributed in the wide surface (contrary to the English longbow), This is the reason this bow type can be built shorter. A good target bow is left somewhat static from the grip and prepared then very softly to the bow end.
Also different limb cross sections support this soft draw and takes at the same time still mass from the limbs .

Steamed bow end ( recurve) affect likewise supporting the firing speed.

At the same time by the processed wood mass , the vibration in the bow is minimized ( Arm shock ). Probably the best wood for a flat bow is Osage orange, a very tough firm bow wood. Yew with a Bamboo backing is very well for short flat bows, with highest firing comfort.

As Grip piece I recommend hardwoods such as Osage, Hickory, or Plum, this can also be combined and/ or selected as wood decorations in the bow.

 


1. Bamboo Yew flatbow "swallow"

The bow is reinforced with Plum wood. I is particularly soft in draw and lays nice in the hand. The bow becomes a nice bow to shoot do to the hand shock -free shooting behavior.
As Grip piece I recommend hardwoods such as Osage, Hickory, or Plum, this can also be combined and/ or selected as wood decorations in the bow.
With a built in arrow strike plate made out of antler , the grip is wrapped with deer hide which is available in different colors.

2. Bamboo Osage Flat bow "raven"

A beautifully evenly working bow.
The bow ends are made from European Plum wood.
Into the grasp range gladly a veneer layer can be trained. Fine Osage with little late wood (close Year rings = a more easier and flexible) the bow belly. This construction minimizes the limbs weight around approx. 30% opposite the pure Osage - bow. Likewise also the speed and the shooting comfort increases. The grip is wrapped in deer hide and available in different colors.
When desired also the bow belly can be prepared as wished. Beside its decoration organization clings the wood-specific possibilities of the wood is fully exhausted here.
